Talking heads on you web-site:
Inovani deliver an easy to use ASP service for
running talking head (e.g. Web hosts) on your web-site.
The talking head shows up on web-pages on your
web-site. The head is running in a Java applet (the FacePlayer) and this
applet has functionality to control what the head says. The head can
speak with recorded sound, or the speech can be generated on demand using
synthetic voices. Synthetic voices are available for many different
languages, and every day new languages and voices appear on the market.
Inovani has a variety of heads available for such
services. You may use one of these or have your own 3D model deliver your
messages. New heads are easy to create either by a 3D modeller close to
you or by one of Inovani's partners for 3D modelling, e.g.
Henning Birkeland.
The service is flexible and easy to use from web-servers
anywhere in the world. It is also possible to install this service on
your computers instead of accessing inovani owned hardware.
Easy integration with
your web-site:
To run a talking head with
recorded sound on your web-site, all necessary files are stored on your
servers. The FacePlayer applet is then inserted and used on any page
where you want a talking head.
If the talking
head is to speak utterances generated on demand, sound and "animation
commands" must be generated. This is delivered from Inovani services.
Several architectures are available for getting sound and animation
commands. All of them tackle the security restriction on applets: applets
are only allowed to communicate with the web-site they are loaded from.
Fore example it is possible to placing the FacePlayer on a web-page
on the Inovani ASP server, and presenting this page in an iFrames on your
web-page. The graphics of the FacePlayer page is adjusted to fit the
graphics of the surrounding page. To get the head to speak, you use Java
Script or similar to send messages to the applet to tell it what to say.
The FacePlayer contacts the inovani server to get the sound and animation
commands.
Another example is having the
FacePlayer web-page residing on your site. You then create a service on
your site that connects to the inovani ASP service to get the sound and
animation commands created. This is then sent to the FacePlayer to
make the head talk.
It is also possible to install the complete sound and
animation command service on your hardware.
